Because of course authors love to revisit their characters...

So, we have finally reached the end...of an entire hockey romance series. The impressive fact is not only the fact that I finished this series in a month, but that I stuck to it despite not being a hockey fan at all. Yes, I was here for the love story, not the sport aspect. Now, this book is made up of 4 novellas capturing each character a few years into the future and what the fate is of each one.
Cue the drumroll, here we go.
Short Summary: Our core four hockey players: Garrett, Logan, Dean and Tucker face new adventures and challenges in their current relationships with their respective partners.
In other words, I will forever die on my hill that The Legacy was written in a mad spur of being drunk and she must have had an editor that wanted to lean onto the humor aspect and in messing up character arcs. In a nutshell, the only character that seemed to stay nearly the same was Logan. His story, while a bit disappointing at the end, was the closest to matching who he was when I read The Mistake. From there, the two who suffered the worst of Kennedy's wrath was Dean, our confident pretty boy turned into a stuttering mess over a proposal, and Garrett Graham, the himbo caveman turned into... well, more of a caveman that resembled his horrible father.
And then there's Tucker and the overly dramatic and hilarious honeymoon that went upside down and made me wonder what exactly had I read. As I end this series, I truly wish the author had just left it to four books and let that be it because this book was sadly a dumpster fire to read in which I spent most of it laughing, or horribly annoyed about that antique doll that kept getting shipped out and sent in between themselves.
I'm fully convinced that Elle Kennedy probably owns an Annabelle doll somewhere.
Overall: 1.5/5 stars
