Now... I've never read You've reached Sam before. I know TikTok always talks about this book, I already know it's a tearjerker book I am not entirely ready to read yet, nor have I read the other title Hold Still, but I entered this book thinking I was going to encounter some fantasy story and then being absolutely surprised by what I found instead.

So... here we go.

Short summary: A girl who loses her best friend sets out to re-shape her life and fulfill her dream of becoming a feather artist and designer all while possibly finding love too.

Now, this book made me tear up at many parts because there was this fervent love that Alix had for her best friend Jeanne that made me think about my best friend and how grateful I was to have her in my life. As I sit down to really reflect on this book, I found myself liking it a lot. I read it in two sittings which is always a good sign because usually it takes me more time to read books nowadays but I realized it had some magical realism too which isn't exactly my favorite genre, but I guess we can live with that. The battle between Raven VS Blaise had me in a chokehold because I just needed to know who Alix would end up with and the ending was one that left me satisfied.

I also realized I need to actually put some more effort to learning French because there were quite a lot of French phrases throughout the book.
