Now, I finally get to post about one of my favorite authors of all time, Soman Chainani who has my heart (and my money too!) with his School for Good and Evil series that truly changed my life and has been with me since I was little. It was the series that ended when I was days from graduating high school. It was the series I got to discuss for five minutes on a Skype call with the author on the day I graduated. And now, as one of my favorite series gets wrapped up in this prequel duology, I feel a bit sad to leave it behind.

But I always get to revisit it again, so here we go.

Short summary: Our resident gay school master twins are no longer immortal, fugitives of the school they are supposed to rule over and trying to get it back from Peter Pan who took over (and everyone else who wants to rule over it!) but a prophecy says only one remains, and that means one of two brothers must die.

So, what's good and evil in the end?

Long Summary: When Rhian and Rafal trusted James Hook into their lives, neither brother expected to fall for him. Just like neither expected for their immortality to be stolen away by him and for the Storian to punish them. With some of their students kidnapped and their magic dwindling, the brothers must race against time and a prophecy that says that only ONE will rule the school in the end.

But with two corrupted brothers and the lines of good and bad blurring, who will win in the end? And who is the right person to lead?

The amount of times I gasped while reading this was a LOT. While this one was more fast paced than the last one, with new characters introduced and new perspectives that makes it a bit dizzying to follow, the chaos is perfect for the conclusion of the series I grew up loving since I was younger. For anyone asking, Rafal is still my favorite brother and both of them seriously needed to stop obsessing over Midas (because a good chunk of this book was about this dude) but seriously, this book will give all the feels and will make you laugh at how gay most of the characters are for each other (because this was the most amusing part of this book among other things) and also cry because of the end which I had... so many feelings for because of the injustice, and yet, fitting to set up what happens in the rest of the School for Good and Evil.

Which means that sometime in the summer, I will be re-reading this entire series again hehe.

Overall: 5/5 stars
